If I understand your question correctly, you wanted to say yes to this boy but you didn't because he caught you off guard? It's probably not too late to salvage this. Yes, if you like him and want to date him, you should definitely approach him and let him know how you feel. Just explain that you were feeling uncomfortable but you did really want to go out with him.

As for suggestions about books or magazines...have you taken a look at our other articles on this site? We have a ton of useful information about dating!

i think if u fallow what this says than it can get u relly far in life because some of this is really true about things cause i told my boyfriend some of these things and they really work so try them they might work for u just maby but as long as u try they should work guys you can even tell these things to ur gurlfriends it dont matter they still work so juct try them thanx.

A lot of men have trouble expressing their feelings, it is a problem in our society. The expectations of men are different from women when it comes to both emotions and relationships.

For someone like yourself, I recommend that you keep saying those nice things. Show him ways to express his feelings subtly by the way you show him you care. Do this fully, without expecting him to return the favor.

Look for other ways he might show you how he feels, as it may not be as direct as your methods. If you do ever get to a point where you don't feel loved, then discuss it with him, as open communication is key for any relationship. Still, don't expect him to approach this show of affection the same as you!

I tell my boyfriend all these things because I know how important it is to reassure your partner of how much they mean to you. I always try to make them at an appropriate time and I also try to not make the compliments too overwhelming. But I never get told anything in return (except for a couple of times when he told me he cared about me)...he really is a good guy but his incapability to say if I mean something to him makes me hold back on saying things to him again.

Tabitha, I wouldn't worry too much about saying things in a sweet way. That doesn't matter as much to boys. All you need to do is mention all the things you like about him. It can just be a list if you want. He will appreciate that you took the time to make a booklet and he will enjoy finding out how much you like him.
