Met my first love when i was 17, we were together a rocky 5 years. It was great until we started to grow up and realize we wanted different things. I never thought i would love someone the same again, but here i am 9 months in another relationship and just as in love if not more. Of course my first love runs thru my mind here and there (espicially since he's expecting a baby now) but its ok because he helped me grow into the person i am today, and im thankful for the time we spent together. I use to have all this hate towards him, but its vanished and i wish him happiness. All i can say now is Heartbreak is tough, but hang in there you will find love again when the time is right.

We have been off & on several times throughout the years and throughout other serious relationships. We have gone months even years apart but always seemed to reunite somehow. I would always drift away because I never thought he was serious, up until this year I found him again and we expressed our true undying love we have always kept within our hearts for ea other and after many long serious talks we feel we were always meant to be together, that God intended this to happen. We realized we needed all those times apart to learn different experiences & feel love with other people, we feel that it has not only made us better people but it has made our love even stronger for ea other. We are now approaching 30 years old and neither one of us have kids yet so we feel this was Gods plan all along. Reuniting has made me the happiest i have ever been in my life. We feel so blessed and we now believe in true soulmates.

My heart still skips a beat when I think of my first love, but 35 years have passed since we held hands and looked longingly into each others eyes. Life happened to us and we are very different people now. Nick, where ever you are, I still think of you fondly.

-- Contributed by: Debbie VasenThe month that I turned 16 I started working at my first job "Walmart" During my orientation I met Byron a 19 year old guy. After flirting for a couple of weeks and spend all our time together we started dating which was difficult because my parents were so strict, the first time they met him they told me i was not to see him again. On top of him being 19 he was also black. To my parents I was nothing but a gullible puerto rican kid. After sneaking around for about 3 months he moved and our relationship just stopped. For the next 9 years i was in and out of 2 serious relationships. The entire time though Byron and I would contact each other at random times. Sending cards or letters. Long story short exactly 10 years on the date Byron called me and we've been together ever since. We're engaged and will be married next august. Oh yeah by the way my parents now love him. Funny how things work out! :)
