Flirting the Gateway to Cheating

flirting

Let’s face it; flirting is fun and flattering when it gets the intended results. For some, it doesn’t matter whether you’re single or in a committed relationship: flirting is sport.  When viewed as sport, the expectation might be that flirting is unacceptable once you or your partner is in a committed relationship, but is that fair? You don’t give up golf, or tennis or basketball just because you’re in a committed relationship so why flirting?

For the most part, flirting in and of itself is mostly harmless. Harmless that is as long as you’re not exchanging phone numbers, email addresses or making plans to meet again. Sometimes though you may be offered and feel the need to accept the ‘business card’ with the rational of having no intention of using it. That argument doesn’t hold water and it isn’t considerate or respectful to your partner.

Put another way, if flirting is a harmless, fun sport for you to participate in, then it surely is a harmless sport when your wife or girlfriend does it too, right? On the other hand, If you both enjoy the occasional rush of excitement and thrill from the attention of a stranger, it’s a good way to remind yourselves that your partner’s lucky.

What’s your thought on flirting? Is it acceptable when you’re in a relationship? Tell me what you think.
