Romantic Night Ideas
From dating
Use these romantic night ideas to help you plan a special evening with your sweetheart. Doing what the two of you enjoy is always fun, but don’t be afraid to try something new.
Some Romantic Night Ideas
The best romantic ideas are often creative and well thought out. Here are a few popular ideas to get your creative juices flowing.
Cuddle on the Sofa
This idea may seem obvious, but sometimes couples forget the simple pleasures of cuddling together. Dim the lights and put on a romantic movie. You can also choose music or even television instead. Or, just lie down next to each other and enjoy each other’s presence until you both fall asleep.
Spend the Evening Talking
While on the sofa together, consider spending the evening talking. With our busy lives, sometimes we forget to connect with the ones we love. Talk about your day or your hopes and dreams. The emotional bonding will help you feel connected to each other and will enhance the physical side of your relationship.
Bubble Bath
Taking a bubble bath together is an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Spice it up a little by putting candles near the tub and playing some soft background music. If your tub is not big enough for two, consider taking turns bathing each other. You can also try taking a shower together as well.
Massage
After your bubble bath, why not give each other a massage? Use some scented or warming oils and try using some different massage techniques. A word of warning about massages: it may relax one or both of you so much that you don’t feel like getting out of bed. Keep this in mind if you have other activities planned for after the massage.
Drive-In Movie
Unfortunately, drive-in movie theaters are getting harder to find. If you happen to have one in your area, go see a movie together. Many drive-ins are only open during the summer months and the first show starts about dusk. Hop into the back seat together and start enjoying. If you are able to recall the plot in any detail, you weren’t trying hard enough to be romantic together!
Romantic Look Out
If you like the idea of some back seat loving but you don’t have a drive-in theater around, drive to lookout point instead. If your city is flat, then just drive somewhere that offers a wide-open view of the setting sun. Pretend you are teenagers again and enjoy trying to steam up the car windows.
Walk on the Beach
Sometimes you need a little movement to feel romantic, so instead of sitting in the car or on the couch, go for a walk on the beach. Pick a night when the moon is full for that extra romantic ambiance. If you don’t have a beach nearby, a safe park is also quite romantic.
Go Dancing
Bumping into strangers at a club isn’t the most romantic activity. Instead, go dancing in a more low-key environment where you can enjoy being close to each other. Some restaurants offer dancing which would be a great environment. Alternatively, find a dance studio that offers dancing. Some have free open dancing if you take a lesson first.
Star Gazing
Star gazing can be a romantic way to end an evening. Driving outside the city offers the best view, but a wide-open field will work as well. Bring a blanket so you can lie down next to each other. Standing or sitting will hurt your neck after a few minutes of viewing.
Dinner Cruise or Train
You already know that one of the most common romantic night ideas is to have a romantic dinner. The way to spice up this activity is to go on a dinner cruise or a take a ride on a dinner train. Many trains also include a show such as a detective mystery to solve.
Schedule Your Quality Time Often
These are just a few romantic ideas to get you started. You might also consider playing an adult board game, getting a hotel room, or attending an outdoor concert or theatre. Regardless of the activity you select, the quality time spent with your sweetheart is what makes it romantic.
