A dating service called the Social Grid is doing something remarkable; they’re taking scientific principles like probability and statistics, and applying them to the dating world. To the end of that mean, they have what is called a soul mate calculator.
The way it works is you type in your general preferences for your mate, and they give you a number. We’ll use the number one hundred for explanation purposes. If this is your number, then that essentially means that your chances of meeting your “soul mate” is one in one hundred.
Sounds a bit crazy right? But it’s not. Think of it. All you have to do is go out and make sure you meet one hundred eligible people. It sounds difficult, but it really isn’t. If we think of all the club/bar hopping, co-worker interaction, museum trips, and blind dates we have, we could easily reach that number. And if the science is accurate, one out of the hundred potential “dates” we have would be our soul mate. Amazing.
Another advantage of this site is that it’s not just surface layered. In fact, it’s quite in depth, with explanations for everything they do, including their own personal philosophy. Point in case? They ask you to rate key factors like face attractiveness, emotional intelligence, and artistic ability etc. A total of fourteen of these categories are combined and calculated into your final score. So, literally the one person you meet out of hundred matches your criteria for a soul mate exactly.

If it sounds far fetched, think of this. There’s been a lot of hoopla around The Secret of late. Oprah showcased it on her show and in true Oprah style; it took off like wild fire.
