Created Love Text Messages

From LoveToKnow Dating

Ever since a phone with the alphabet was created, love text messages have been sent between romantic people. Some criticize it as impersonally technological, but the fact is people have always used whatever they could to let each other know they care.

Well-Created Love Text Messages

The thing to keep in mind when thinking about what to send in your text message is the recipient. This is the person you love and that's what the message is about. It needs to be composed in a way that your partner understands, in the 140 characters allowed by most text messaging plans. Here are some ideas that might help you with your own:

The Sweet Compliment

This message is usually referring to either something that recently happened or something that is always a part of your partner. It lets him/her know that you appreciate this aspect of him/her, and more importantly that you are aware of it. Everyone likes a lover who pays attention, and a complimentary text message is just the way to show it:

  • "I loved the way your dress moved last night."
  • "That goodnight kiss you gave me still has my lips tingling."
  • "I can't stop thinking about how beautiful your hair feels in my fingers."
  • "Those shoes you wore made you the sexiest thing ever. So glad you're mine."
  • "Even after 5 years together, I'm still entranced by your eyes."

Remember to keep these messages specific (shoes, eyes, hair) and believable. Someone who is fighting to lose weight is not going to appreciate being told "You are the skinniest person there!" if he/she know it's not true. What would work, though, is something like, "You've never looked better! So proud of how you're taking care of yourself!"

The Hot and Sexy Text

Some created love text messages take on more of an intimate and physical form. While this is a great way to bring someone to that shivery blushing state of flustered grinning with just a few words, you have to be very careful that the person is comfortable with this kind of thing being discussed in the open – and certainly that the two of you are at a stage in the relationship where these kinds of thoughts are appropriate.

The safest bet, even though it requires a bit more creativity, is to use words that can be suggestive without being blatant. There's a time and place for vulgar and just plain dirty talk; you'll know when you've reached that point, and if you're not sure, you probably haven't.

  • "My fingers touching your lips softy…sounds nice, yes?"
  • "I love the taste of you."
  • "My entire body is focusing on one particular part of you. Guess which?"
  • "If you could read my mind, you'd be blushing and smiling and coming to see me NOW."

That last one brings up the question of case and diction. You'll notice that all the messages have complete grammatical structure, full words, and punctuation. While shortened "txt" language may save on letters, it loses in translation in most cases. "lv u 2" is simply not very romantic, at least to most mature lovers.

The Classic: "I love you"

When in doubt, there is never anything wrong with simply saying this classic phrase because it is short and sweet. Because it's so plain and simple, it communicates more – it implies that your feelings were so intense at that precise moment that you couldn't hold back. You stopped everything that you were doing at work, at play, put down your coffee and grabbed your phone and started pressing buttons just because it was important to you that he/she knows: I love you.

That is the definition of romance. No matter how bad your day is, no matter how stressful or disheartening, just getting that simple message of love lets your partner know he/she is not alone. Your partner feels cherished and knows you are on his/her side.
